We just changed our name to "Leasing
2"
We just changed our name from "Commercial & Municipal
Capital" to "Leasing 2". There are several important
reasons why we did this. First, we have decided to no longer provide
commercial leases but to just specialize in "municipal"
or "tax-exempt" leases. Thus we wanted to get the word
"Commercial" out of our name. Secondly, we have decided
to branch out from our fire business into several other municipal
lease areas such as law enforcement, public schools, etc. The
"Leasing 2" name lends itself to this as in "Leasing
to Fire Departments", "Leasing 2 Public Schools",
etc. Thirdly, there are a couple of other companies in the leasing
business that go by "Commercial & Municipal Capital".
It was beginning to confuse those fire departments and fire vendors
that we do business with.
Please be advised that nothing else has changed except our name.
We still have the same address, phone and fax numbers, web sites,
people, etc. Of course, Whitey Meyers is still exclusively responsible
for servicing fire departments and fire vendors.
Interest Rates are extremely low right
now - now is the time to finance!
Interest rates are lower right now than they have been in the
last 10 years. If you are considering financing any capital purchases
in the next year or two it would make good business sense to arrange
the financing now to take advantage of these low rates. Keep in
mind that it usually takes a month or so to make purchase and
finance decisions and fire trucks and fire stations usually take
close to a year to complete. Also, we can lock today's low rates
in for you but your first lease payment can be scheduled for up
to a year after completion of the truck or station.
Also, if you are currently paying on a sizable fire truck or
fire station loan the chances are good that we can save you thousands
of dollars every year by refinancing those loans.
Please call Whitey Meyers at 800-287-5155 x 11 if you feel you
might be interested in considering this and have some questions
or would like to receive a preliminary quote on a lease.

It's very expensive to delay the purchase
of a fire truck!
In an attempt to spend their money wisely, many fire departments
delay buying new fire trucks for as long as possible. Few fire
departments appreciate how much these delays actually cost them.
The reality of the situation is that the inflation of truck costs
is outpacing the cost of leasing. To understand this, consider
the fact that the purchase price of new trucks has been increasing
over the last number of years due to increasing costs of materials
and equipment - we estimate this increase to average about 5%
per year. As the following schedule illustrates:
1. In 5 years, the cost of a $180,000 fire truck will inflate
by $49,730
2. The interest cost on a 5 year tax-exempt lease will be $21,561
3. The savings that can be gained by leasing the truck now will
be $28,129
So, if you want to save money for your department, buy that fire
truck now and lease it.
